Friday Before the Meet
Check the team website for swimmer & volunteer assignments. Let Lindsey Gerhardt know immediately if you need a swimmer change. Let Jen Baker know right away if you have a conflict with your volunteer assignment.
Day of the Meet
Check the team website for heat sheet and volunteer assignment (please note that swim assignments do change during the day of the meet and swimmers should verify swim assignments at the meet). Print a heat sheet to bring to the meet.
Remind your swimmer to drink lots of water, especially if it is hot.
Encourage your child to restrict the amount of outdoor activity, especially if it is hot weather.
Label anything your family is bringing to the meet.
At the Meet
Direct your swimmer to sit in the assigned area for his/her age group/gender and to check in with the age group parent (all swimmers 10 & below). Remind younger swimmers to stay with their age group parents throughout the meet to ensure that they do not miss their swim events.
Parents should check in at the volunteer table to receive job materials and instructions.
Swim times are posted near the scoring table at every meet. Check these sheets throughout the meet to see how your swimmer placed.
Remind swimmer to keep trash picked up throughout the meet.
Before leaving the meet, make sure that your area is as clean as when you arrived.
At home meets, please come to the pool deck and help reset the chairs.
After the Meet
There is NO morning swim practice the day after a meet (evenings open to those who will miss practices that week due to conflicts).
Swimmers should check their folder in the ribbon bins the practice after a meet to retrieve any ribbons or speeding tickets earned at the meet.
