Critical Details for Tomorrow's Championship Meet
July 10th
Good Afternoon on Championship Eve,
I’ll keep my commentary brief and to the point, because there is a lot and I want to make certain we are all on the same page (but not Matt, LeeSa, Elena or Parker Page)
- The address of the swimming facility is:
Oldham County Aquatic Center
1551 KY-393, La Grange KY 40031
- Owl Creek will warm up from 7:10 AM - 7:30 AM. Please arrive in plenty of time to make warmups. This is very important for backstroke count and for the coaches to insure that everyone has made it. The meet will start at 8 AM promptly
- There will be NO FOOD or DRINKS available at for purchase at the meet. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE come prepared with lots of water, Gatorade, healthy snacks for the kids and yourself. It is going to be hot, muggy and a long day. Pack plenty of water
- DO NOT PARK in the front lot. There are two big lots behind the swimming pool
- The weather is likely to play a big factor tomorrow. I strongly suggest bringing multiple towels for the swimmers, extra t-shirts, umbrellas, etc. A map of the facility and team areas is attached to this e-mail
- If you are working, or even if you are not working, please come with your phones fully charged (a worker list is also attached to this e-mail)
- Anyone who is able and willing, please try to arrive a little early and look for Justin Blanford to see if you can help out with setting up. We are thin on workers. If anyone backs out, we do not have many backup options
- If you have NOT joined the Group Me Messaging App and would like to, please contact me via text and I'll add you. It will be the easiest means of communication tomorrow
- I also suggest bringing multiple pairs of goggles and swim caps for your swimmers. It is also never a bad idea to bring an extra suit. Things can happen that you don't plan for
- Wear your Owl Creek shirts/hats and gear
I hope to see you all at the Pasta Dinner tonight. I love Fat Jimmy's and it is great carb-loading for tomorrow, but let's have the kids eat first to make certain they get full
Regards,
Kyle
